Trailer: Introducing Proud Stutter
Show Notes
Proud Stutter is a podcast series about shifting the narrative around stuttering. Host Maya Chupkov, a woman who stutters, discusses her experience with Cynthia who does not have a stutter.
The goal of the podcast is to bring justice to those who stutter and are constantly misunderstood by society, to raise awareness that stuttering is just a different way of speaking, where the very idea of “normal” speech is undone.
This podcast is for everyone because whether you know it or not, you’re connected to someone who has a stutter.

Cynthia Chin:
I'm Cynthia, and as someone who doesn't stutter, I am eager to learn about stuttering, and to embark on this journey with you and our listeners. This podcast explores a space where stuttering is understood as just a different way of speaking, where the very idea of normal speech is undone.
Maya Chupkov:
The idea of Proud Stutter emerged to bring justice to those who are constantly misunderstood by society. This podcast is for everyone. Whether you know it or not, you are connected to someone who has a stutter, because stuttering is different for every person. We want to change the conversation to be more inclusive, taking a deep dive into stuttering, in an effort to change how we talk about it, one conversation at a time.
