End The Stigma Through Storytelling

There’s a real stigma around stuttering.

Many of us get discriminated at work, bullied on the playground, mocked in TV and movies, and we don’t feel the confidence to speak up.

I spent the first 28 years of my life hiding a big part of myself, lacking the courage to forge friendships and connections. I felt I would never succeed.

But Proud Stutter is changing this. We offer a community of support, an opportunity to be heard, and ways to take action. Stutterers are so poorly represented in the media, and we are changing this by launching a mini-series.

Follow along on a journey through the lives and experiences of people who stutter. Learn what it’s like to be stigmatized, silenced, and shamed. But also, experience the rich and diverse community of stutters, who have finally found their voice.

The Proud Stutter limited series will empower and destigmatize a long-silent group. We hope you join us to #EndTheStigma.

Get involved by donating to our newly launched crowdfunding campaign to help us reach our goal of $10,000. Starting today, October 6, the first 10 people to donate $100 will get an advanced copy of Proud Stutter’s limited edition comic book.

Your contribution makes a real difference in the lives of people who feel silent, marginalized, and shamed. You are an absolute hero, and we are so happy that you are part of this community.

Join us in this vital endeavor to de-stigmatize stuttering.

Your contribution to the Funding the Future of Stuttering Campaign is greatly appreciated. Proud Stutter’s fiscal sponsor is Independent Arts & Media, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and your donation is tax-deductible as allowed by law.
